Reginson Engineering Join the Ventilator Challenge
Rolls-Royce, who are part of the VentilatorChallengeUK consortium, have been working hard to investigate production of a range of ventilator design options to help increase the UK’s supply of ventilators.
Rolls-Royce’s role in the consortium was to set up a parallel supply chain to feed in materials as quickly as possible to a number of new assembly plants being delivered by GKN.
Key challenges for Rolls-Royce include identifying, contracting and getting up to speed with a range of appropriate suppliers.
This is where Reginson join the journey.
From a telephone conversation on Sunday 29th March, we had the challenge of manufacturing a total of 113,000 pieces in 10 days to support the build of 8,000 ventilators.
- Thursday the 2nd April, we make our first delivery totalling 30,000 parts.
- Friday the 10th April, we complete our orders despatching the full 113,000 components.
Directors at Reginson commented:
“Without the support of our dedicated workforce it would not have been possible to have achieved the success rate that we did. The attitude and commitment of all staff involved in this project, was remarkable and we are very proud of all of our employee’s that took part in this challenge.”
Our dedicated team did a fantastic job of meeting every day targets and supporting the government’s call for ventilators.
We feel honoured to have been part of the fight against Covid-19.
